A packed meeting of The Dover Society on Monday, 15th March 2004,

enjoyed talks by two visiting speakers.

 

First Speaker: Paul Clarke,

Paul Clarke, a planner from Dover District Council, gave the latest information on the redevelopment of now-closed Buckland paper mill. He revealed that three potential developers were about to give presentations to a selection panel and a decision on who to build was due to be given in April.

Former immigration official Martin Lloyd from Canterbury gave a talk entitled "Without let or hindrance" which told of the history of the passport system in the UK and abroad.
